Born and raised in London, England, Lynn Jaye fell in love with painting at the age of five. After studying art in school, she continued her studies at three London art colleges. However, being restless and longing to travel, she left London and embarked on a seven-year worldwide tour.

Arriving in California in 1981, Lynn Jaye was introduced to Santa Cruz by a fellow artist and decided to stay. Continuing her studies in art and design, She worked as a sign painter, logo designer and later as an interior design consultant. In 1997, she began to sell her work and in 1990 became a full-time artist.
